A piece that has been brewing in my mind for a while, and I’m happy to see it land in a place that might have some influence on those who producer capital ‘T’ theater. For those who love improv, many of the usual suspects: Del Close, TJ & Dave, Baby Wants Candy, Improvised Shakespeare Company, among others.

Also, Sir Patrick Stewart gave us this nice insight about playing with the ISC in the last few years:

Thanks to Eliza and Rob at AT, and all who spoke to me while I was producing the piece!

Eric Andre, his show, his testicles

Got to write about The Eric Andre Show for Rolling Stone. Such fun.

Didn’t get to tell the story about Andre mashing his testicles into my lady’s back in public, but. Maybe that’s for the best. But it was funny. (Yes, she found it funny, too.) And while I told him about this, he politely apologized again and again.

During that Brooklyn leg of the Eric Andre Show tour, they also had Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio as a guest. The house band played a big intro, the crew put the set together just so. It took a while and Tunde waited patiently, but that was it. Andre said his name again and he was ushered off. Given all of the torture Andre subjects his guests to, this was another unexpected, silly way to pull the rug out from under things.
